The management of electric fleets by companies will be more efficient through an app that EDP Comercial just launched. The technological solution EV.Charge will allow to control all the charging points in one single platform, explains the company. The initiative, created with the idea of promoting electric mobility, also allows to obtain information in real time regarding who is using the vehicles and how much is being consumed.
Electric mobility is the “pillar” of the de-carbonization of economy, stated the President of EDP Comercial, reminding that transportation is responsible for 25% of the total carbon emissions produced by societies. “EDP Comercial believes that companies will perform a fundamental role in this transformation. That is why we added EV.Charge to our offer, so to ease the electrification of company’s fleets, a need already shared by many clients” underlined Vera Pinto Pereira.
Directed towards the business sector, EV.Charge was created to help manage in a more efficient and integrated way the charging points in spaces of private access, such as the charging points that companies want to have in their facilities, but that there are not connected to the MOBI.E network.
“With this service, companies have now the possibility to decide if they want to differentiate pricing, for example in different charging points or by users, be that a collaborator, a client or a visitor” stated a source within the company. Although, it added, the margin to define costs will always be set “under the values defined in the respective energy contracts, and companies can immediately receive payment in their EV.Charge account”.
The app allows to obtain information in real time regarding who is using the vehicles as well as who much is being consumed.
One can join either through purchase or in service provider mode – in case a company doesn’t want to invest in equipment. The solution includes installation of charging points of various ranges and powers, according to the client’s needs.
Also, a closed access portal is provided for each company, to manage equipment, have user access , implement tariffs and receive immediate payments. Finally, the service also includes an app for users to charge their electric vehicles and provide the respective payments.
With this innovation, the national electricity company creates another solution to facilitate the energetic transition of company’s fleets, allowing to optimize the spending of electricity and reduce atmospheric pollution. This new app can e found at www.edp.pt/empresas/servicos/mobilidade-eletrica.
Besides private charging solutions, companies can also connect their charging points to the public network MOBI.E. This option allows all users with a CEME card to charge their vehicle in a company charging point. What is consumed can always be paid by users, this way, eliminating the risk for equipments’ owners.
EDP Comercial has been accelerating the installation of charging points in private spaces in order to support the business sector for a more sustainable management of their fleets. Currently, and according to the press release, there are more than 50 charging points connected to the public network. The goal is to reach a total of 300 units for users of electric mobility by the end of the year.
